Get to Know the LIT System

The LIT System provides our customers with the opportunity to increase the safety and efficiency of their operations. Additionally, it provides the resources needed for them to effectively manage their lighting as an asset to maximize its return. Phoenix’s LIT System combines with high mast fixtures to enable lighting control, zone scheduling, asset management and real-time data collection.

Each of Phoenix’s integrated high mast fixtures is equipped with its own wireless controller. This controller responds to signals given by the LIT System, allowing the user to dictate or schedule the exact illumination needed at any particular time.

Illumination can also be set to begin and end at a certain time, such as an hour before sunset and after sunrise, using the LIT System’s geographic location.

Traffic fluctuations require varied levels of illumination. Traditional lighting system see two options – on or off.

The LIT System allows ports and terminals to divide their yards into sections (or zones) to better control which areas are illuminated. Fixtures in high traffic areas can be programmed to illuminate at full capacity, while fixtures in vacant areas can be dimmed to security levels to conserve energy.

Because each fixture is able to be controlled individually, each high mast pole can be customized in a multitude of ways.

The LIT System dashboard is made up of user-initiated information that can be used to run asset management and energy reports. These reports can calculate the energy consumption of the fixtures over a period of time, performance of the fixtures in a specific zone, and status of any fixture errors (potential failures or outages).

By managing lighting as an asset and scheduling light output based on operational needs, terminals reduce energy usage by up to 30% and extend fixtures lifetime.

The wireless controllers transmit fixture status data to the LIT System dashboard via a secure connection to the cloud, all in real-time.

This data includes failure notifications and information to predict the future performance of the light fixtures. This can be particularly useful in automated terminals, where personnel are not nearby to observe potential failures. Knowing which fixtures are at risk can help prevent lapses in productivity due to lighting outages.
