Phoenix Adds Former Cree Lighting Products to Expand Market Reach
Deal follows recent Rig-A-Lite acquisition, giving Phoenix unmatched industrial lighting portfolio
MILWAUKEE – September 17, 2026 – Phoenix Lighting (“Phoenix”), a leading manufacturer of
rugged industrial lighting solutions, today announced an agreement securing exclusive rights to
the intellectual property, manufacturing assets and technology associated with select product
lines of the former Cree Lighting business, assuming exclusive rights to manufacture and sell
these products.
The agreement expands Phoenix’s catalog through specific historically high-performing product
lines that complement the company’s established core strengths. The result is a complete
solution set for customers seeking uncompromised performance, efficiency, and durability in
harsh conditions. The collection will incorporate outdoor and select indoor products, including
the RUL, OSQ Series, Guideway, OL Series, CPY250, CPY400, IG, KBL, CR and KR. Products will
be marketed under the Phoenix Lighting brand while retaining their established product name
and nomenclature.
By securing the manufacturing equipment, inventory, intellectual property, and certifications
associated with these select product lines, Phoenix is establishing a new standard for these
solutions. The company is taking full control of manufacturing, distribution, and dedicated
customer care, ensuring these products are now integrated into the Phoenix ecosystem.
Distributors and agency partners can look forward to a refined experience, featuring
streamlined channel support and immediate access to this expanded array of industrial and
commercial solutions.
Shipments are scheduled to commence in Q1 2027, with production ramping up throughout the
first half of the year. Phoenix expects to be prepared for commercial discussions beginning midOctober.
Phoenix notes that this transaction does not include legacy operations, liabilities, or ownership.
This agreement marks another key milestone in Phoenix’s growth strategy, following the recent
acquisition of Houston-based Rig-A-Lite. Phoenix brings together its signature Durability by
Design approach and reliable engineering with Rig-A-Lite’s hazardous-location expertise and the
proven product lines of the former Cree Lighting portfolio to deliver an unmatched lighting
solution for sales agents, distributors, specifiers, and end-users across North America and global
markets.
“This addition is a powerful step forward for our customers and commercial partners,” said Rick
Rosser, CEO of Phoenix Lighting. “This is a defining moment for Phoenix. We’ve brought
together three highly respected lighting portfolios, decades of engineering expertise, and a
reputation for solving the toughest lighting challenges in the world. We’re not doing this simply
to get bigger—we’re building a company that intends to lead. Our customers and partners
should expect to see Phoenix competing harder, moving faster, and pushing to the front of the
industrial lighting market.”
With this broadened product portfolio, Phoenix solidifies its position as a single-source
manufacturer capable of outfitting complete industrial and infrastructure projects, from
extreme marine, port, and aviation sites to high-bay industrial plants and hazardous-location
operations. To learn more about Phoenix and their expansive portfolio of offerings, visit
